My love of cars started at the age of 16, I fell in love with the Corvette. I judged my first car show in 1958 and I saw this beautiful 1957 Corvette, well beautiful to me, which was on the way to the scrap yard, so I bought it for $200.00 and turned it into an altered drag car and enjoyed quarter mile racing for many years. I saved my money from my paper route and in 1965, still a kid, put half down on the fastest Corvette I could find from the dealer at that time... bought a 1965 396/425 horsepower convertible which I still have today with 29,000 miles on it. The 1965 spent most of its time in the garage while I raced the 1957. I spent most of my time restoring cars and from the 1970's to 2000 I restored 33 cars, the oldest being a 1929 Buick and the newest a 1970 Chevelle. I retired in 1993 after 30 years on the job and started enjoying the fruits of my labor. I was able to sell most of my cars at a profit and keep some of my most favorites, lots of hard work, the 1965 Corvette, of course, 3 other older Corvettes and some other miscellaneous cars. The old body could'nt take anymore and will not let me do any more hard work, so I have to farm some of my work out. It is very hard to find *quality* work these days as we all know. The good guys are gone, now its big bucks and less than satisfactory work most of the time...
